River & Jonah’s Gilbert Arizona Temple Wedding

River and Jonah’s wedding at the Gilbert Arizona Temple was such a beautiful day. Jonah showed up a little before River and I wasn’t worried about hiding Jonah for a “first look” as they were married a few days before out of state for friends and family that couldn’t travel to Gilbert.

One of my favorite things about their wedding day was the beautiful cloud cover. Their photos were taken in the mid-morning, which can sometimes mean bright Arizona sunshine and harsh shadows. Thankfully, the clouds gave us soft, even light that was absolutely perfect for portraits.

For LDS brides planning their wedding at the Gilbert Temple, this is something worth keeping in mind when planning your photography timeline. You don’t necessarily have to wait until sunset to get beautiful photos. Having a photographer who knows the temple grounds and knows how to work with the light can make a huge difference.

That’s one of the reasons I love photographing weddings at the Gilbert Arizona Temple. After photographing so many couples here, I know the little spots around the temple that work well for portraits and how to make the most of whatever lighting we have that day.

River and Jonah’s photos are a great example of this. The clouds gave us beautiful, soft light, and we were able to spend time capturing them around the temple without fighting the bright Arizona sun.

Your wedding day goes by incredibly fast. The photos you receive afterward are what allow you to come back to those moments years later—the way you looked at each other, the excitement of being newly married, and all the little moments you may not remember otherwise.
